This card has never been seen before either autographed or unautographed! It is a third prize premium for the JBR 52 set that was originally attached to a display sheet. Takeshi Doigaki was the most prominent catcher of the postwar era in Japan, and surprisingly was never elected to the Hall of Fame. Playing primarily for the Hanshin Tigers and Mainichi Orions during his 18 year career (1940-1957), Doigaki won five consecutive Best 9 awards, and had a lifetime batting average of .282. He barely missed out on consecutive league batting championships. This card depicts him as a charter member of the Mainichi Orions. The card is signed in blue fountain pen. Blank backed card.

Size: 2 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Condition: The card grades Ex. It also contains extra paper and glue residue from originally being attached to a display sheet by the manufacturer. All cards from this set have similar remnants of former display sheet attachment. The autograph grades 9 out of 10.
