Vintage Japanese game used bats, unlike American major league bats, are extremely difficult to find. All player equipment was considered to be the property on the
team, and it was not appropriate for anyone to remove the equipment from the clubhouse. This was certainly the case nearly 40 years ago when Koji Yamamoto used
this bat.
A member of Japan's 500 home run club, Yamamoto is the all time greatest player for the Hiroshima Carp, and possibly the best center fielder in Central League history.
He was the leader of the Carp "Red Helmet" dynasty in the 1970s. He won 10 consecutive Golden Gloves and hit an astounding 14 homers in All Star games.
Yamamoto's Mizuno World Win white ash bat is signed by the centerfielder vertically along the barrel in black marker. He signed his name and inscribed his uniform
number "8". The bat has a cupped end. "CA 8" is stamped on the knob. The bat exhibits mild use. In all our years in this business, we have never had the opportunity
to handle any piece of Koji Yamamoto equipment until now. This bat is a real treasure.
Size: 34", 31.4 oz.
Condition: The bat exhibits mild use. The autograph grades 9 out of 10.
