The JGA 152 set of rounded corner cards was issued as a gift from the publishers of Shonen Book magazine. It includes 52 cards, of which 13 depict baseball players, with the remainder including many non-sport subjects. The cards
were intended to be used as playing cards. The set is exceedingly scarce and has received the R4 designation in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, 2nd Vintage edition by Gary Engel, signifying that 10 or fewer
examples of each card are known in the hobby. The list of players in the set is impressive: (top row, left to right) Keishi Suzuki (HOF), Yutaka Enatsu (rookie) (HOF), Masaaki Koyama (HOF), Kazuhiko Kondo (2nd row, left to right) Isao
Harimoto (HOF), Shiro Takegami, Masahiro Nagaike, Takeshi Koba (HOF) (3rd row, left to right) Tetsuya Yoneda (HOF), Katsuya Nomura (HOF), Shinichi Eto (HOF), Sadaharu Oh (HOF) (bottom row) Shigeo Nagashima (HOF).
Unfortunately, while most of the cards are in outstanding condition otherwise, they were originally glued to a piece of construction paper and later removed, causing back damage. In any case, this is the first complete set of JGA 152 baseball players that we have ever
had the opportunity to offer.
Size: Each card is 1 15/16" x 3 1/16"
Condition: Cards other than Harimoto (creasing) would by Ex/Mt, Nm, or Nm/Mt if not from paper loss on the back due to previous attachment to a piece of construction paper.
