Nomura, a catcher, belted 657 home runs during 27 year career (1954-1980). He was perhaps the Pacific League's greatest pre-Ichiro player and certainly the best catcher in the history of Japanese baseball. He was selected to the Best
9 for 13 consecutive seasons. He won the triple crown in 1965. After retirement, he went on to become a very successful manager. Here we see him pictured on a very scarce Shukan Shonen magazine card.
