Until Hideo Nomo debuted for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1995, Masanori Murakami was the only native Japanese pro baseball player to appear in the U.S. Major Leagues. Though his MLB career ended in 1965 as a result of an agreement between the Nankai Hawks (who felt that Murakami was stolen from them via a contractual loophole) and the San Francisco Giants (who wanted him to continue playing for them), Murakami continued to play in Japan Pro Baseball through the 1982 season. Soon after retirement, he penned the book offered here. Murakami autographed this softcover book on the inside front page in both English and Japanese using a black marker.
