This is only the second example of this card that we have ever offered for sale or auction. The last time was in June 2007. So, for the first time in over 11 years, you have the opportunity to obtain a copy of this scarce Sadaharu Oh rookie card. In the previous instance, the card at auction was in much weaker condition than the one being offered here. While we cannot be sure, Oh appears to be in the stretch position while pitching. Oh was a star both on the mound and at the plate in high school, so when he first joined the Giants, the front office was unsure as to whether his future lay as a hitter or as a pitcher. Before Oh's rookie regular season began, the team decided to have him play first base exclusively. Thus, there are only a few Oh rookie cards in which he is seen as a pitcher. Could he have succeeded as an earilier version of Shohei Otani? We'll never know.

Size: 1 13/16" x 3"

Condition: The front is Ex. The back contains minor paper loss and black residue from having previously been pasted in a photo album.
