This set was unknown to the hobby until 2014. To date only two to three copies of each card in this lot are known. We believe the set may be complete at 27 regular cards, as only cards containing playing cards of diamonds and spades have been seen. There is also one "replacement card" in the set. In the image of the card fronts which accompanies this lot, the Hall of Fame members comprise the first three rows and left and right hand cards in the fourth row. They are (top row, l to r) Tetsuharu Kawakami (replacement card), Shigeo Nagashima, Isao Harimoto (second row, l to r) Masaichi Kaneda, Shigeru Mizuhara, Kazuhisa Inao (3rd row, left to right) Minoru Murayama, Yasumitsu Toyoda, Takao Kajimoto (4th row, left) Noboru Akiyama (4th row, right) Kazuhiro Yamauchi. The non-HOFers are (4th row center) Kazuhiko Kondo (5th row) Kiyoshi Oishi, Kunio Jonouchi, Yukio Ozaki (6th row) Kazuyuki Kondo, Masahiro Kubo. Interestingly, the purple backs display a large uniform number next to names of players who wore that uniform number in 1962. The card backs seem to be unrelated to the fronts. Additionally, most of the players mentioned on the backs are not known to have cards in this set! This is an exceedingly rare grouping from the Golden Era of Japan Pro Baseball.

Size: Each card is 2 1/8" x 1 1/2".

Condition: Near Mint, Nm/Mt and Mint. The Nagashima card contains minor foxing on the white background.
