The "Man Who Changed Japanese Baseball" as the title of Robert Fitts' excellent book aptly described him, Yonamine brought American style play to the Japanese game, with his hustle and determination. His success in Japan Pro Baseball led to the steady flow of North Americans playing in Japan that continues today.
