One of the several Hawaiians that made their Japan Pro Baseball debuts in 1952 was Tsutomu Yaji. Yaji, born in 1926, was a graduate of Farrington High School and a player for the Hawaii Red Sox. 1952 was his only year in Japan. A second baseman/shortstop, he appeared in 55 games for the Nishitetsu Lions. Blank backed.
