Henry Tadashi "Bozo" Wakabayashi (1908-1965) was born in Wahiawa, Oahu and graduated from McKinley High School in 1927. This postcard sized brown tint premium bromide produced by Toyokuni Sha for Undogaho Magazine features the immortal Hawaiian pitcher during his days as a member of Hosei University in the Tokyo Big Six League. After completing his college career at Hosei, Wakabayashi joined the Osaka Tigers, compiling a lifetime record of 237 wins, 144 loses and a 1.99 ERA. He was inducted into the Japanese Hall of Fame in 1964. This card is the scoreboard back version.
