Morinaga, well known Japanese confectionary company and purveyors of two well known 1964 baseball card sets, produced these premiums. The Japanese inscription on the back informs us that the company referred to these disks as "parade badges". The badges alternate between a headshot of the player depicted, and a Yomiuri Giants logo, depending on the angle at which the winky is placed. The player at left is Sadaharu Oh, Mr. 868 lifetime home runs. The player at right is Shigeo Nagashima, "Mr. Giants". These two sluggers formed the powerful O-N combination. This slugging pair led the Yomiuri Giants to nine consecutive Japan Series titles.
Size: Each winky is 7/8" in diameter.
Condition: The Nagashima winky is Ex/Mt. The Oh winky has an Ex/Mt front, but the back exhibits dirt and fading.
