Following the 1956 U.S. Major League Baseball season, the Brooklyn Dodgers toured Japan, facing various Japan Pro Baseball opposition 19 times. During this series, Jackie Robinson made a fond farewell to baseball as an active player. The Dodgers finished the Tour with a record of 14-4-1. This large size original Type 1 photo depicts the Dodgers' motorcade being greeted by the crowd as part of a welcoming parade. This photo also appears in the commemorative album produced by the Tour's sponsor and presented to each member of the Dodgers' Tour party. The extra paper and glue found at the corners on the reverse side indicate that this photo was most likely removed from the original presentation album. This is truly a special piece of Brooklyn Dodgers baseball history.
