This is the first Japanese edition of a book first published in the U.S. in 1959, a year after Campanella was paralyzed as a result of a tragic auto accident. It is one of the best known early Campanella biographies. This example is a hard/soft cover book with dust jacket. A prolific author of more than fifty books during five decades, Gene Schoor (1914-2000). specialized in "juvenile" sports biographies but also wrote a variety of other works, including a successful pre-assassination biography of John F. Kennedy. The Campanella tome is one of his best known.
