Only two complete sets of JBR 28 are known in the hobby! The JBR 28 set contains a plethora of exciting cards. Foremost among them are the cards featuring Negro Leaguers John Brittain and Jimmy Newberry (brought to Japan by Harlem Globetrotters owner, Abe Saperstein), and Hawaiians Tsutomu Yaji, Jun Hirota and Bill Nishita. All five cards are rookie cards. Brittain and Newberry were the first postwar African American players to play in Japan Pro Baseball. The Hawaiians were part of an influx which resulted from the success of Wally Yonamine the previous year.
