These cards are similar in style to cards in the classic JDM 2 mask set, but much rarer. This is the largest group of JDM 22 ever offered for sale or auction. This is not surprising, since the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide,
Vintage Edition has assigned this set a scarcity factor of R5, meaning that three or fewer examples of each card are known in the hobby. Moreover, the card of HOFer Takehiko Bessho was unchecklisted until now! These beautiful, child's
head sized masks can be punched out at the eyes and nose, and can be worn if a band is placed through the ear holes (punched by the manufacturer during production). The cards are similar in style to JDM 2 and may even be produced
by the same manufacturer. They reflect the existence of the Mainichi Orions team which began operation in 1950. Hall of Famers in this lot are (top row, left to right) Kaoru Betto, Michio Nishizawa and Takehiko Bessho, (bottom row, left to
right) Fumio Fujimura, Tetsuharu Kawakami. The card at lower right features non-HOFer Takeshi Doigaki. If you like JDM 2 masks, you'll surely fall in love with JDM 22.
Size: Each mask is approximately 5" x 7 1/2".
Condition: Five eye holes are punched among the six masks. Otherwise all masks are Nm to Mint.
