These are the only examples of cards from this set known to the hobby! All three players played in the Big Six league during the 1927 through 1930 seasons, but we are not certain as to the year of production. We do not believe that the images on the cards bear a particular likeness to any of the players listed on the cards, but this is still an early and rare grouping. Saburo Miyatake (top row) was one of the biggest stars of Tokyo Big Six University baseball in the late 1920s. He was a superstar both on the mound and at first base. As a pitcher, he had a lifetime record of 39-6! Later in his career he joined Japan Pro Baseball, playing three seasons for the Braves. Nakamura (bottom right) was a pitcher for Meiji U. Unfortunately, there were two different pitchers and a catcher during the 1927-1930 period who played for Meiji with the same surname, so we're not sure which one this is! Nakajima (bottom left), not to be confused with the great Haruyasu Nakajima of the same era, was an outfielder for Rikkio University.
