Japan Pro Baseball game used equipment is very rarely made available to the public, as the equipment has traditionally been considered property of the team. Therefore players and other employees were not permitted to remove it from the locker room. Most Japanese game used equipment we have seen offered to the public belonged to lesser names. This is one of the rare occasions in which the equipment presented belonged to a star player. Left handed screwball pitcher Masahiro (Masa) Yamamoto spent his entire 30 year professional career with the Chunichi Dragons (1986-2015), winning 219 games, a Sawamura (Japan Cy Young) Award (1994), and pitching a no hitter (2006). He is the oldest pitcher in Japan Pro Baseball history to win a game, beating the Hanshin Tigers on September 5, 2014 at age 49! Interestingly, at age 22, he spent a portion of the 1988 season on loan to Vero Beach in the Florida State League, compiling a 13-7 record with a 2.00 ERA. This was still in the era when Japan Pro Baseball players were essentially prohibited from moving to the U.S. major leagues. A Meikyukai member (Golden Player) and future Hall of Famer, Yamamoto certainly qualifies as a superstar. This SunUp Descente warmup jacket has all the original tags attached. It exhibits good game wear.

Size: "Custom Order" is printed on the tags. Yamamoto was about 6' 1", 190 lbs.

Condition: Good game use.
