During the first part of the 20th century, the University of Chicago baseball team made several tours of Japan. Two of them occurred in 1915 and 1920, with the postcard
seen at top emanating from the 1915 Tour and the postcard at bottom a product of the 1920 Tour. In 1915, the Americans played 11 games against Keio and Waseda
Universities, winning all eleven, with the first seven wins on the Tour coming against Waseda. The 1915 Tour postcard is a joint team photo with the Waseda team. Japan
Hall of Fame members Tatsuo Saeki and Tadao Ichioka can be found in the Waseda team. The 1920 Tour included 14 games against Waseda and Keio, with Chicago winning ten and
losing four.
