Inokawa was a star catcher for Meiji University of the Tokyo University Big Six League during the late 1920s and early 1930s. It was no surprise when he was selected to be
part of the team that opposed Babe Ruth and the Major League All Stars during their legendary 1934 Tour of Japan. Inokawa was Japan's top batter during the series, batting
.348 with a home run. In 1940, he signed with Japan Pro Baseball. He was a player/manager for the Hankyu Braves from 1940 to 1942. He then joined Japan's war effort,
returning to baseball in 1947. Subsequently, he managed the Tokyu Flyers. Juichi Miyake was an outfielder for Hosei University during Inokawa's time at Meiji U. This
baseball is a Kajimaya International Official University League Ball--the type that was used at times during the 1934 Japan Tour. Inokawa's signature appears on the sweet
spot, with Miyake's signature on another panel. Signed with a traditional Japanese calligraphy brush.
