The airplane menko is one of the most popular styles in the history of Japanese baseball cards. Three of the cards in this lot include player names on the card--Shigeru
Chiba (HOF) (top center), Kaoru Betto (HOF) (bottom left) and Keisuke Imanishi (bottom right). However, several other cards, principally the four in the middle, look like
they are accurate drawings of real players despite the fact that no player name appears on the card. We are fairly sure that the card in the third row depicts Hall of
Famer, Henry "Bozo" Wakabayashi (Hawaii). The card above it may represent Hall of Famer Haruyasu Nakajima. However, we cannot say for certain.
