Lot Description  

Never before have we encountered a shikishi of this vintage consisting solely of as many as five Hall of Fame members. All of the signees were members of the Yomiuri Giants during the period 1950 to 1955. The traditional Japanese signing board was signed in brush pen. Manager Shigeru Mizuhara (d. 1982) signed at upper left. Second baseman Shigeru Chiba (d. 2002) signed at lower left. Pitcher Hideo Fujimoto (d. 1997) signed at bottom center. Pitcher Takehiko Bessho (d. 1999) signed at lower right. First baseman Tetsuharu Kawakami (d. 2013) signed at upper right. This is truly a unique piece.

Size: 9 1/2" x 10 3/4"

Condition: Shikishi - Ex/Mt due to minor yellowing and foxing. Signatures - 9 of 10.
