This 1958 Yamakatsu Upper Left Glove rookie card of Shigeo Nagashima is from a set that is so scarce that not enough cards from the set have been found to generate a checklist in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition. As a result, this is certainly one of the rarest Nagashima rookies. Nagashima was definitely the most anticipated rookie of all time in Japan Pro Baseball or anywhere else! And he didn't disappoint, earning the nicknames of "Mr. Giants" and "Mr. Baseball" while leading the Giants to nine consecutive Japan Series championships.
