This Kobai Caramel set was discovered within the past year! No more than two examples are known of any player. Cards have the same types of images on the front as 1951 JF 10 Kobai Caramels, except there are several horizontal lines of Japanese text in the lower third of the card which discuss product redemption. This is the only Kobai set that contains the player's first name on the front as well as his surname. Tetsuharu Kawakami, known as the God of Batting, was the best hitter in Japanese baseball during the 1940s and 50s. Not only is he one of the very best position players ever to play in Japan, but he is also the most successful manager, having guided the Yomiuri Giants to nine consecutive Japan Series championships.
