This card was made to promote the movie, #16, the Tetsuharu Kawakami Story. Known as the "God of Batting," Kawakami was Japan's best hitter of the 1940s and 1950s. He later became Japan's all time greatest manager. In 1956, he hit .364 against U.S. Major League
pitching during the Brooklyn Dodgers Tour of Japan. As a player, his .313 lifetime batting average places him in Japan's all time top 10. As a manager, his Yomiuri Giants won 11 Central League championships in 14 years, including nine consecutive Japan Series titles!
