This limited edition autographed official baseball has been inscribed by the legendary Hanshin Tigers pitcher. Along with signing his name, Enatsu has written "401 K 1968" as well as "Meikyukai" on the sweet spot. This ball comes with a certificate of authenticity from Card Dynasty in Osaka, one of the most trusted names in the Japanese baseball hobby. The private signing took place on March 23, 2006. A photograph from the signing is included with the ball.
Enatsu played from 1967 until 1984. Both a starter and reliever, he ended his career with a total 193 saves, a record that was later broken by Kazuhiro Sasaki. As noted on the baseball, he had 401 stikeouts in 1968 with a 25-12 record. He pitched a no-hitter in 1973 and was a two time MVP. He won the Sawamura (Japan Cy Young) Award in 1968. After retiring in Japan, he tried out with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1985 at age 38. After failing to make the team, he decided to retire instead of playing in AAA. Enatsu had 206 career wins, but he was not formally inducted in the Meikyukai due to his conviction and three year jail term for heroin possesion in 1993.
Size: Regular official NPB baseball
Condition: Signature 10 out of 10. The ball is Mint.
