Murata was inducted last year to the Japan Hall of Fame. He had 215 career wins and is one of only a few members of both the Meikyukai and HOF. Murata is well known as being the first Japanese player to undergo arm surgery. The operation was performed in the United States by Dr. Frank Jobe and was a complete success, allowing Murata to have several more outstanding seasons. This ball was signed beautifully in black marker and includes his personal first name (Hanko) stamp for authenticity.
