Born in 1920, Noguchi pitched from 1939-1944 and1946-1953 (The 1945 season was cancelled due to WWII.). Although he won 237 career games, including 40 in one season, he is not a member of the Meikyukai because he was born before 1925, the beginning of the Showa Era. He is in the Hall of Fame primarily for his pitching. However, in 1946 he had a 31 game hitting streak, a Japan Pro Baseball record that lasted until 1971. He had an incredible lifetime 1.96 ERA and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989.
