Shigeo Nagashima's pro debut was so highly anticipated that several sets consisting of nothing but Nagashima cards were produced to honor his rookie season! These cards are part of the sole tobacco style menko all Nagashima rookie set. One card shows him with fellow Giants rookie Shojiro Nanba. The cards in this set all contain scoreboard backs. Nagashima proved in his rookie season that he could live up to the hype as he batted .305 with 37 stolen bases, and led the Central League in home runs, RBI, hits, runs and doubles. He was also named Rookie of the Year. This was just the first step toward Nagashima's becoming Mr. Giants and Mr. Baseball.
Size: Each card is 1 13/16" x 3".
Condition: One card (yellow background) contains creasing. The others are Ex and Ex/Mt.
