This set was produced by the same unknown company that produced the JGA 20 set in 1960. These colorful cards contain portraits of the game's biggest stars of the era. The key card in the lot is a rookie card of Isao Harimoto, Japan's only member of the 3,000 hits/500 HR club. There are 14 cards of HOFers/Golden Players in the set including Shigeo Nagashima (Japan's cultural icon), Masaichi Kaneda (400 wins), Wally Yonamine (former SF 49ers running back), Katsuya Nomura (657 HR), Kazuhisa Inao (won 42 games in 1961), Yasumitsu Toyoda, Kazuhiro Yamauchi, Motoshi Fujita, Tadashi Sugiura, Yoshio Yoshida, Tatsuro Hirooka, Kihachi Enomoto and Yoshinori Hirose. This is the largest accumulation of cards from this set that we've ever encountered, and it may well be a complete set. It is certainly a rare one! There are also five smaller game playing cards (no player images) that are part of this lot and were issued with the set. Blank backed.
Size: Each card is 2 1/16" x 3 9/16. Game pieces are 1 3/8" x 2 1/8".
Condition: Most cards range in condition from Ex to Nm, with a few lesser. Harimoto-Ex/Mt, Nagashima-Ex to Ex/Mt, Kaneda-Ex/Mt. Three cards have one corner chip including Hirose and Yoshida.
