Wakabayashi was born on a pineapple plantation in Hawaii in 1908. Japanese scouts were so impressed with his pitching skills that he was brought to Japan to play in the Big Six University League, which was Japan's top league at the time. Later, as a pro with the Tigers, he compiled a 237-144 won-loss record with a 1.99 ERA. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1964. This bromide was produced near the end of his career with the Tigers. He later went on to the Mainichi Orions organization until 1953. This was probably a premium prize winner card obtained by lucky holders of "winner" card regular bromides. Blank backed.
