Lot Description  

Very few late 1940s rectangular menko are presented in horizontal format, and this may be the only horizontal Starffin menko ever made. Cards from this series are rarely seen. The artwork on this card gives Starffin's 1949 team designation, but the drawing shows his 1948 uniform. 1948 is the only year when Starffin wore number 18 rather than number 17.
