This beautiful volume with its colorful, embroidered cover contains 30 gilt edged pages, most containing either a crystal clear, 7" x 9" or panoramic black and white photo of the Boys of Summer during their visit. Images of Robinson, Snider, Campanella, etc. abound, along with various Japan Hall of Fame members. The images chronicle the Tour from the Dodgers' arrival in Japan, to their exploits on the field, their sightseeing trips, and finally, their departure. The book, produced by the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper, sponsors of the Tour, was presented to each member of the Dodger party as a keepsake to bring back home. Additionally, copies were presented to various Japanese dignitaries and Tour officials. This copy emanates from the collection of one of these Japanese officials and had remained in Japan until only a few short weeks ago.

Size: Album size--14 1/4" x 10 1/2". 30 pages. 27 pages contain one 9" x 7 1/2" photo. One page has four 8 1/4" x 6 1/2" photos originally taped together to form a 33" panoramic photo. Two pages each have two 6" x 7" or larger photos.

Condition: The album cover is Vg/Ex to Ex. Individual inside pages have darkened a bit around the edges, but this darkening does not affect any of the photos. The photos are Nm. The tape originally holding three panoramic photos together has disintegrated, so these photos are now in separate pieces.
