Michio Nishizawa (1921-1977) made his Japan Pro Baseball debut as a pitcher in 1937 at the age of only 15! In 1940, at the age of 18, he went 20-9 with a 1.92 ERA. He pitched a no hitter in 1942. After the end of World War II, he switched to the outfield, where he became an even bigger star until his retirement after the 1958 season. A five time all-star, Nishizawa was inducted into the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977. Nishizawa enjoyed a banner year in 1950, batting .311 with 46 home runs and 135 RBIs.

Nishizawa died in 1977 when he was only 56 years old.  Therefore, there are not too many Nishizawa single signed items around.  He signed this uncatalogued 1950 baseball card in blue ink, most likely in 1950.

Size:  2 3/8” x 3 1/4"

Condition:  The autograph grades 8 out of 10.  The card is Vg with the number 14 written in ink at upper left on the otherwise blank back.
