This uncut sheet furoku (premium) of 8 cards (3 baseball) was issued in the January 1, 1957 issue of Manga Oh (Manga King) magazine.  According to Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0, this set has received an R5 designation, indicating that five or fewer copies are known.  We know of only two JBR 96 uncut sheets that have survived until today.  The other uncut sheet is deeply ensconced in a private collection and may not be offered to the public for many years.

Three baseball cards are included in the set.  They include the greatest hitter and pitcher of the era (Tetsuharu Kawakami and Masaichi Kaneda), along with Hall of Fame Member Futoshi Nakanishi, who had missed winning the 1956 Pacific League Triple Crown only because he batted .3246 compared to Yasumitsu Toyoda’s .3251!  Sumo Yokozuna Wakanohana and Kagamisato also have cards on the uncut sheet, as well as pro wrestling legend Rikidozan.

Size:  The uncut sheet is approximately 6” x 9”.  Each card is 1 3/4” x 3”.

Condition:  The uncut sheet is in Good condition.  However, Kaneda, Nakanishi and the other sports cards except for Kawakami would be at least Near Mint if cut from the sheet.
