Korean native Hideo Fujimoto is the all-time Japan Pro Baseball leader in lifetime ERA (1.90), single season ERA (0.73) and all-time winning percentage (.697). He is credited with introducing the slider to Japanese baseball. He pitched the first perfect game in Japan Pro Baseball history. He is a Sawamura (Japan Cy Young) Award winner. In 1943 alone, he pitched in 432 2/3 innings, threw 19 complete game shutouts and went 100 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run!

We have never seen an example of this card of Hideo Fujimoto until recently.  Moreover, we are not aware of the base set with which it is associated.  We do know that it was issued attached to a display sheet by the manufacturer, and that it was most likely a 2nd prize winner card.

Blank back card

Size:  Approximately 3 1/4” x 5 5/8”

Condition:  Some darkening along the top border.  Corners and borders are Ex/Mt.  Sharp, dark and clear image.  A previous owner has printed the number “1” in ink on the blank back at upper left.  The card also contains paper and glue residue on the blank back since the card was issued attached to a display sheet by the manufacturer.  All examples of this card will have such residue.
