Every JCM 44 card contains a blue ink Ted Williams back.  The backs can have any number from 1 to 10 at lower right.  Any front can be paired with any back.  Interestingly, there are only eight different fronts.  One of the eight Japanese players who has a card in the set is Isamu Fujii, and his image adorns the front of this card.
Isamu Fujii is probably best known for hitting the first home run in the history of Japan Pro Baseball in 1936. A second claim to fame is that he was the star of his high school team that beat Kyoto Commercial High School with Eiji Sawamura on the mound at Koshien in 1934. Fujii played in Japan Pro Baseball from 1936 to 1958. He spent most of 1939 to 1945 in the Japanese army.
After spending his prewar career with the Osaka Tigers, Fujii joined the Pacific team in 1946. The remainder of his playing career was spent with the Robins and the Whales, where the left handed first sacker became a feared slugger. His 122 RBIs in 1950 stood as a Whales team record for half a century. Fujii later had a nearly 25 year managing and coaching career with the Robins, Whales, Orions and Tigers.
