Cards from the JCM 13d set differ from nearly all other "tobacco menko" type cards of the late 1950s and early 1960s in that the player images look more like paintings than colorized photos. 1961 was Sadaharu Oh's third year in Japan Pro Baseball. It was to be his final year of producing ordinary batting statistics (.253 BA, 13 HR, 53 RBI) before his career took off in 1962. The black vertical column of Japanese text near the right border of the card proclaims "Giants #1, Oh, Infielder".
Size: 1 13/16" x 3"
Condition: Would be Ex-Ex+ but on the reverse side, there is a horizontal scratch below the menko number.
