This uncut pair of JCM 12e cards appears to have been issued in this form. It was never attached to a display sheet, as the back shows no evidence of a glue stain due to such attachment. Also, it does not look like it was cut out of larger uncut sheet by a previous owner. While we have never seen a JBR 69 hanging bundle (taba), we have seen other "tobacco menko" issues from this period that were originally issued as uncut pairs.

Interestingly, this pair of cards depicts the number one and two all time winningest pitchers, Masaichi Kaneda (400 wins) and Tetsuya Yoneda (350 wins). Moreover the pair also ranks number one and two in career strikeouts with 4,490 and 3,388 respectively. Kaneda amassed his totals during a career that lasted from 1950-1969, while Yoneda pitched from 1956-1977. Not surprisingly, in 1960, these contemporaries were 20 game winners and both led their respective leagues in strikeouts. They also faced each other in the first game of the 1960 All Star Series, with righthander Yoneda and the Pacific League prevailing by a score of 3-1 over lefthander Kaneda and the Central League.

Size: Each card is 1 13/16" x 3". The uncut pair is 3 5/8" x 3"
