Numerous baseball games containing baseball cards were produced in the 1970s and 1980s and inserted in the Shogaku Nensei (Elementary School Student) series of monthly children's magazines. Nearly all of those sets are well documented in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1. However, this set is uncatalogued, and most likely scarcer than most or all of the others. Interestingly, all other such sets contain only cards which feature photos of the players. This set is unique in that several of the Pacific League All Stars are represented by drawn depictions rather than photos.

This game and card set is entitled "All Star Baseball Game" and appeared in the March 1978 issue of 4th Year Elementary School Student Magazine. Hall of Famers/Golden Players (Meikyukai) with cards in the set include Sadaharu Oh, Isao Harimoto, Yutaka Fukumoto (drawn image), Hideji Kato (drawn image), Hisasahi Yamada (drawn image), Koji Yamamoto, Morimichi Takagi, Keishi Suzuki, Hiromitsu Kadota (drawn image), Masahiro Doi (drawn image), Tsutomu Wakamatsu. There are also cards of Bobby Marcano (drawn image) and Leron Lee.

All cards and game pieces are in pristine condition and attached to the original sheets. The winner of this set will have the only example known in the hobby

Size: Each card is approximately 1 5/16" x 1 11/16". The uncut sheet with cards is about 7" x 10".

Condition: Mint as issued
