JF 51 Orion Gum is such a rare issue that of the 20 cards thought to be part of the set, only 14 have been discovered to date. The set has been given the designation R5 in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1, indicating that five or fewer copies of this card are known to exist. The inscription across the top of this card is "Batting King". In 1959 and 1960, Kazuhiro Yamauchi was the Pacific League home run leader. In his career, he was selected to nine Best 9 teams. He is also known for batting .301 in 216 at bats against touring U.S. major league all star teams.
