This giant sized bromide baseball card depicts Hiroshi Oshita at the bat rack. Interestingly, he is posed with a bat in hand, but it is not his trademark blue bat that he is said to have swung with gusto.

Raised in Taiwan, Hiroshi Oshita entered Japan Pro Baseball in 1946 following a stellar career at Meiji University. He was the most feared hitter in the early years of the Pacific League. Oshita was named to eight Best 9 teams during his career. He batted an astounding .383 in 1951. He was elected to the Japan Hall of Fame in 1980.

The card carries the designation of R4 in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1, indicating that fewer than 10 copies are known.

Blank backed card.

Size: 7 7/16" x 10 5/8"

Condition: There is a tiny crease in the upper left corner. Otherwise, the card would be in pristine condition.
