The JF 35a set carries an R5 designation in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1 by Gary Engel, signifying that five or fewer copies of this blank backed card are known.
Dick Lajeskie was a middle infielder whose pro baseball career encompassed the years 1943-1951. He played in six games for the New York Giants in 1946. He spent the 1948 and 1949 seasons as a reserve infielder for the San Francisco Seals, and accompanied the team on their 1949 Tour of Japan. Interestingly, the Japanese text on this card lists Lajeskie as an outfielder.
