This is a previously unknown baseball card featuring Lefty O'Doul. O'Doul was elected to the Japan Hall of Fame in 2002 for his contributions to baseball in Japan. He is one of four Americans enshrined. Lefty played for the U.S. All Star team in Japan during the Tours of 1931 and 1934, and later organized a number of postwar Tours, including the 1949 San Francisco Seals Tour of Japan, which was one of the first peacetime cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Japan following the war. The image on this blank backed card is from the 1949 Tour. O'Doul is joined in the photo by two youthful baseball players.

The card contains extra paper and glue on the back as a result of being issued as a prize winner card on a display sheet. If other examples of this card are ever found, they will all contain paper and glue on the back like this one.
