Junzo Sekine was a Japan Hall of Famer as a pitcher, outfielder, manager and commentator. However, before that, he was a star pitcher at Hosei University in the Tokyo Big Six University League. This is one of two different pre-rookie cards of Sekine that were produced during his university days.

Sekine's entire 16 year pro baseball career was spent with the usually lowly Kintetsu Buffaloes (previously Kintetsu Pearls), where he won 65 games and had 1,137 hits. The slight (5' 7", 145 lb.) lefthander gained his greatest recent fame as an analyst on Japan Pro Baseball television programs.

This is a rare opportunity to own a pre-rookie card of a Japanese postwar HOF player. Blank backed card.

Size: 3 5/16" in diameter.

Condition: Would be Nm/Mt, except that the blank back contains a bit of paper and glue residue.
