In 1920, the first autobiography of Babe Ruth was published in the United States. It was entitled Babe Ruth Home Run King. However, the book was not published in Japan until 1929. The 300 page volume was translated into Japanese and sold for 1 yen and 50 sen. Unfortunately, we have never seen the Japanese version of the book. However,we can offer an advertising sheet for the volume.

Ruth's photo is seen at upper left on the front. Interestingly, there is a filled out baseball box score on the back. This box score may be an indication that the flyer was passed out to attendees of baseball games. We have done some research and have discovered that the game scored was played between Waseda U. and Keio U. on 5/21/29. Keio prevailed by a score of 10-7. HOFer Saburo Miyatake was the winning pitcher, with HOFer Shotaro Ogawa absorbing the loss. By our count, 10 Japan Hall of Fame members participated in this contest! We did some research and found the actual box score for the game (albeit in Japanese). A copy of that box score will be made available to the winning bidder upon request.
