On September 3, 1977, in front of a crowd of 55,000 people, with one on and nobody out in the 3rd inning, Sadaharu Oh slammed a 3-2 sinkerball delivered by Yakult Swallows pitcher Yasujiro Suzuki into the right field stands for his 756th lifetime home run. The blast eclipsed Hank Aaron's recently set Major League record of 755. Oh, who retired after the 1980 season, would go on to hit 868 round trippers.

To commemorate #756, Pepsi Cola issued a set of laminated shitajiki (which students were to put between their desktop and writing paper). The shitajiki offered here depicts five scenes from the at bat that produced the home run and subsequent celebration, along with Oh's facsimile signature, all surrounding an image of the Korakuen Stadium scoreboard immediately after the home run was hit. The reverse side contains text listing the number of home runs that Oh hit each season, with details of many of his most important round trippers. This shitajiki would be at home in any Sadaharu Oh memorabilia collection.
