Tetsuya Yoneda, a pitcher whose Japan Pro Baseball career spanned the years 1956-1977, won 350 games lifetime. This is the second highest total in the history of the Japanese game. He also fashioned a lifetime ERA of 2.91. He was named to 14 all-star teams, won 20 or more games eight times, and was the 1968 Central League MVP. He amassed the most career wins and strikeouts of any right hander to play in Japan. Both totals are eclipsed only by left hander Masaichi Kaneda. During his playing days, he was known as "tough man" and "gas tank".
