The only other time we have seen this card was in 2004. That example was in much weaker condition than this one. Kawakami is seen here holding his trademark red bat, along with a blue bat more commonly associated with his chief rival at the time, Hiroshi Oshita (HOF). The image is a well composed portrait of one of Japan Pro Baseball's all time greats.
