Tetsuharu Kawakami, known as the God of Batting, was the greatest hitter of his generation. After retirement as an active player, he went on to become Japan Pro Baseball's most successful manager ever, piloting the Yomiuri Giants to an incredible nine consecutive Japan Series titles.

Kawakami, a left handed first baseman is shown here on a JK 1 karuta card. According to the PSA population report, only five examples of the JK 1 Kawakami card have been graded, with this example earning the grade of PSA 5. The card contains a nicely posed image of Kawakami with bat in hand.
