The Orion Baseball Gum set is such a rare issue that of the 20 cards thought to be part of the set, only 14 have been identified to date. The set is designated as R5 in the Japanese Baseball Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1, meaning that five or fewer examples of this card are known to exist. The Japanese inscription printed across the top portion of this card translates as "Double Play".

Yoshida was the Hanshin Tigers' slick fielding shortstop from 1953 to 1969. He also was a decent hitter, averaging .267 lifetime. He had wonderful bat control, striking out only 325 times in nearly 7,000 at bats.
